Abyss
The basis for this image is the glass and concrete façade of the new Fairmont Hotel in Austin, Texas.
As the last rays of the sun cast the outside of the building in resolute steel blues, the lights inside provide a soft glow of contrasting illumination.
The strong converging lines of the building structure ending many floors down add dramatic depth and tension, the visual opposite of the image's calming dominant colors.

Water Castle
The “Water Castle” is part of Hamburg’s historic warehouse district, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is situated on a peninsula between two canals, and today is a restaurant and shop for exotic teas. Beautifully illuminated at night, it is one of Hamburg’s most photographed scenes.
